Since the first show in the back room of Sunny’s Bar in July, 2023 to the final performances at Green Lung Studios in October, 2026, Quick & Dirty Theatre Company made a name for itself in Red Hook and beyond with 19 new plays presented in community-oriented productions, including “The Iguana Becomes Marco,” "Clown in Waiting," "Before the Lobotomy," "Full Frontal," "The Generals," and "Blue Moment" by artistic director Booth McGowan, as well as world premieres of "Picture Day" by Levon Thurman-Hawke, "Vestal Virgins" by Talia Frank-Stempel, "myTHICC" by NYT Critic’s Pick Ming Peiffer, and "Las Cruces" by Pulitzer shortlisted and Tony nominated playwright Lee Blessing.

 

Through connecting dozens of local artists and craftspeople in many of the neighborhood’s favorite venue - including Sunny’s Bar, Coffey Street Studio, Green Lung Studio, Luo’s Events, Andrew Logan Projects, Lars Fisk Studio, and 360 Record Shop - Quick & Dirty Theatre Company continuously offered free and affordable theater productions that captivated audiences with new, heartfelt and off-kilter work.
